Hen Party Dance Class Southampton& Dance Classes in Southampton
For the hen do: a professional teacher, a room we hire in the city centre — walkable from Westquay, Oxford Street and the Bedford Place bars — and a themed routine your teacher makes up on the day for the exact group in front of them. Ninety minutes runs £185 plus the venue’s cost — the same figure whether eight of you turn up or twenty-eight. Nothing is priced per head. For everyone else: a twenty-style adult timetable at £10 a session, and private wedding first-dance lessons from £75.
Southampton Dance Centre exists for one reason: the whole group dances. Mums, bridesmaids and the friend with two left feet learn one routine together — a dance hen party leaves nobody spectating — and every teacher choreographs their own material, live, for whoever walks in. One flat fee, a hired city room, more laughing than anybody budgeted for. And afterwards? Our weekly dance classes in Southampton carry on the same belief: twenty styles, beginners first.
Thirty-nine themes. Priced as one party.

A hen do dance class earns its slot as the daytime hen party activity — done by mid-afternoon, everyone still standing for the night out — and every theme below is taught the same way: one teacher, one hired room, one routine made up for your group.

The processSend the date
Thirty seconds of form — a date, a guess at numbers — is enough to pencil the slot.

Or let the group chat brawl it out — ‘not sure yet’ is a legal answer on the form.

We line up a central room sized to the group and put its hire cost in writing before you say yes.
Dance it, film it
The routine gets invented in the room, around the people actually in it. Phones out for the finale.

Choose a style and put your name against it; when that style lands its teacher, its room and its launch night, the announcement reaches your inbox before it reaches anywhere else — which evening, which address, what to wear for week one. First dances, priced by lessons.
One-to-two lessons wherever suits — your living room, the wedding venue itself or a room we hire in town — paced to the more nervous of the pair and set to the song you’ve already argued about. We travel the whole of Hampshire, New Forest included.
Overheard afterwards.
“Nineteen of us, three generations, one ABBA routine. The teacher read the room in about ninety seconds and pitched it exactly where all of us could reach.”
“We were a cruise-departure hen — danced Saturday afternoon, sailed Sunday. One flat fee, one email chain, zero stress.”
“They drove out to our New Forest cottage and taught us in the barn. The video resurfaced at the wedding, obviously.”

straight answers, no small print ↓
Is the price genuinely one figure for the whole hen party?+
Yes. The teaching is a single flat figure — £185 if you take the full ninety minutes, £160 if you take the hour — with the venue's hire cost added on top and quoted in writing before you commit to anything. Host it at your own hen house and that venue cost disappears entirely. Per-head pricing does not exist here.
Which part of Southampton hosts the hen classes?+
In rooms we hire in the city centre — an easy walk from Westquay, Oxford Street and the Bedford Place bars — and the specific room is named when you book. Prefer to stay put? The teacher travels to hen houses and hotels across Hampshire, New Forest weekends very much included.
Are costumes or props part of the deal?+
No — themed kit is the group's own department, and half the parties dance in leggings anyway. Our side of the bargain is the teacher, the playlist and a speaker with some lungs; the floor arrives with the room.
Can total non-dancers manage it?+
They're the target audience. Every routine is invented on the day for the group in the room and pitched at the most nervous person in it. No experience is needed anywhere on this site.
How early should a Southampton hen date be booked?+
Cruise-season Saturdays fill fastest — six to eight weeks ahead keeps every theme open. Short-notice dates are still worth asking about, because the diary moves; a date is all we need to hold a slot.
What else does Southampton Dance Centre run?+
Twenty styles of weekly adult classes are in the pipeline — a live class costs £10 a session or £32 across four weeks, and every style has an interest list you can join today — alongside wedding first-dance tuition from £75 anywhere in Hampshire.
City centre first, Hampshire always.
Hen classes use rooms we hire in central Southampton — minutes from Westquay, Oxford Street and the station. Classes launch centrally as their lists fill; wedding lessons travel to you, from Winchester and Romsey down to the New Forest and the Hamble.
Thirty seconds here saves a fortnight of group-chat chaos.
